We saw that today at the shop. I wonder what the rules are for that class in terms of engine modifications. Those Rx8s must have serious weight advantage to complete with the porsches. N/A 3 rotors just cannot complete with a 3.4L TT..

The GT3RS is a 3.6l n/a flat 6 rated at 415 hp(probably a bit more in race trim)

The PP 3 rotors in the speedsource cars Ive heard are around 450 hp

My next FD will be PP N/A 20b.

Doesn't Gordon Monson rock one of those now? I just love the sound and the powerband. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE turbos, but my god the 20b sounds SICK N/A and ported all to hell and back.

i was the deadman on the #70 mazda rx-8. also did the fuel mix for both the #70 and #69 cars. was hauling 100 gallons of fuel every hour on the hour it seamed. i was there from thursday all the way till the end of the 24 hour race bustin my *** a a volinteer. i did meet a fella and his wife with nopistons shirts on just before the race begain. anyways i want to tell you guys who didnt make it to the race that it was awsome . we had a few minor issues like the tail lights falling out thanks to a DP car but all in all was a good outing. and no that engine will not be banned and the posche cars have more top end then the rotarys do. the rx8 as with all mazda rotary cars just flat out out performed the competion. tell you one thing being there made my life feel worthwhile as i was part of something that is now in the history books. thanks to everyone who was there and go speedsource!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! randy

I love those Speedsource cars. I can't wait to hit up a GT race again. Kelly and I will probably be going to VIR since they aren't coming to Iowa Speedway this year (Koni is though...win!)

I watched all of the coverage I could on it while I was up with the new baby. They are amazing cars. Tube chassis with CF bodies... really good fabrication and craftsmanship.

I'd like to see a 3 or 4 rotor DP car myself =)
