As a prologue to my post:

1) I have never driven/ridden on a road course.

2) The only car I've ever driven is my Eclipse.

So I went to Atl Motor Speedway to check it out today, even though it rained last night because I expected the crowd to be small. I drove the RX-8 (wow, no torque, but I love revving that thing) and the MazdaSpeed Miata.

I have determined that my next car will be a Miata. Holy crap this thing handles amazing. I can only hope that my 7 will handle half as well as this thing did.

If any of you have been before, you know the course is setup for you to not speed. Well, I was on the gas as much as possible, even though I was afraid of hitting cones (refer to section 1 above). I drove it around twice, the second time losing traction around a few turns. My only complaint with this car is that you can't really feel the turbo until around 5000rpm, WTF?

So I think my next project (as soon as I get my current one running ) will be a 13b into a Miata.

We were asked to leave for drifting all the turns we could. Said the point was to remain in control.

The guys that run Rev It Up probably get minimum wage and have never seen/worked on a Mazda in there life.

Why not a 20b???

I thought the new MS Miata was supercharged? Is it turbo charged? And I have heard it pushes like 180-190 hp. And they are RWD right? If they look anything like the 2000-2003's I would love to have one. The new ones look like an FD in the front and rear. I usually confuse them for FD's , then I see that it is a vert.
