Mazda Profit Up 40 Percent!

In case you didn't read the numbers the 8 is doing well. I dunno where you guys came up with the fact that it wasn't. Hell its already sold more than all three years the FD was out here for. As for it not performing well, did you drive an auto? Those things have the ability to smoke the pants off of any 350Z or G35. Mazda seems to effectively have most of the bases covered as far as cars go, they small agile sports car (Mazdaspeed [or not] Miata) Flagship sports car (rx-8) mid size sedan (6) and the small sedan (3). All stylish and reliable.
The fact that they don't sell many trucks, vans, or SUVs is a shame since thats where car makers make most of their profits from. That's why I think Mazda is a great car company, they kinda sitback and do their own little thing and they've always been scooting right along.
P.S. You can call the RX-8 a grocery getter or not call it a sports car all you want, but its more a sports car than the evo or STi wish they could ever be.

The other cars in its price range.
Here, the 350Z is $10,000 more, the Corvette is $30,000 more. Subaru STi is $10,000 more, so's the Chrysler Crossfire. The Cadillac CTS, Lexus IS300, Infinity G35, BMW 3-Series, Jaguar X-Type and Mercedes C-Class all cost at least $5000 more in any combination of sport packages that could even HOPE to keep up. The EVO isn't available here, but for you it's $3000 more, so's the R32 Golf.
V-8 Mustangs and Subaru WRX are about the same money, is this what you're using to compare? Accord V-6 Coupe? RSX Type-S? Mini Cooper S? Celica GT-S?

The mazda 3 has Ford Focus underpinnings, Focus being the best selling small car in america, it straight up beat the civic.
..The reason they didn't continue with the 7 wasn't ford, Ford kept mazda out of bankruptcy, or did you think mazda wanted to sell a 1/3 of itself? The 7 was a money pit for them, also it wasn't marketed right, too expensive as well.
Ps sink a 75hp shot of n20 and it holds itself against the z. All the mags still say the rx08 is the better sports car, albeit lacking power.

The one i drove was an auto, and it was right before they were released. The local mazda dealer had one in and was offering free test drives about a month before they were actually on the sales floor.

That's like driving a base Neon and telling everyone you know the SRT-4 is slow bacause you drove one.
