NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - The Mazda RX-8 was the only car to get the top rating in a new government test for the risk of a rollover accident

It found only the Mazda RX-8 received the top rating of five stars, which indicates less than a 10 percent chance of a rollover

I would only expect that from a 8, id like to see if the 7 would have done better in the test thou.

I really like the 8. It does a LOT of things very well, but it's not screaming fast in a straight line so it get's **** on by a lot of people that are two narrowminded to enjoy a sports car for more than a quarter mile at a time. sad

Good for mazda and good for the rx8. I wish I would've had one when I was back in ky. The back roads wouldn't know what hit them.

"The Mazda RX-8 got the top rating for avoiding a rollover accident but didn't fare as well in the traditional crash test rating."

What was the crash test rating? Did it have something to do with the lack of a B-pillar?

If you read further in the article, it just didn't get any better than the other sedans/cars. The top few got the same crash rating... Somethine like 4/5. It was just in a pack of other cars rated at one point below perfect if I remember correctly. Still pretty good! Zoom Zoom!

I really wish they hadn't had the HP fiasco and weren't having problems with trannies and diffs... This car needed to come out PERFECT....
