baldy I can help you make one if you want, it's not too difficult, just get a pc with a supported capture card.



the tivo already runs on linux so it's not too surprising there would be a free equivalent. it brings up an important issue though, any of you that value your freedom might want to look more into http://www.eff.org and possibly give em some money, DMCA is already bad enough, more bad law is in the mail.

well see the tivo has to call into tivo to get the schedule, it answers the how do it know question. you need to keep that

I think the time has come for me to put a 120 gig hard drive in

my Tivo so it can go wild recording what it wants, maybe it will be happier and record better shows for me

I was looking into building a PVR awhile back, and this looked like the best option.

You can run it across a network with as many machines as you like, it does picture in picture, basic editing of recordings etc...



and on top of that it's open source... gotta love Linux.
