Yeah, I know. I'm running against the herd here, but I like the fact that they're super light, and I like the way they look. I've settled on the size, which is 15 x 8, with a 5.5" backspace. Was hoping to run a DOT drag radial, but they don't make any sizes between stock width and 275/50R15, and I'm not sure those will fit. I'm also considering the Hoosier Quicktime Pro DOT slicks in a 26x9.5x15 size. What's the fattest tire anybody's running on the rear of an FC3S?

I was about to say are you even done installing the E6X yet? lol Shoot! It's been in and running for like two years! Just don't ask me if I have it tuned like I want it. Runs and drives good, but I'm still a little richer than I'd like to be at a bunch of places. Now back to the tire issue! |
275's fit, but like street tire 275's i dunno about drag tires, them things ur wierd

I think the section is like 11.2 inches? You think it has a chance? |

You think it has a chance? well, yes! the rear of the fc gains negative camber as the suspension goes into bump, so the tires tuck under the fenders insead of hitting them, in the rear. and a 265 tire fits back there.... in the front, the suspension doesnt tuck the tires, and its kinda narrow. you need camber plates, and smaller springs and then maybe you can squeeze 245's in there. i did 235's and it was tight. you can get bigger fenders and fill em with tire, i think the re amemyia time attack car was running 255's in the front.... |

Hmmm. I really have spent too much time thinking about this. I don't want to try to re-invent the wheel, so to speak. Should I just go with the Nitto drag radials in a 245/50R16 on the stock T2 rims? How much will I gain by going to a lighter wheel? I know the T2 rims are bloody heavy, but will it make a difference?
Shoot, I might just order some 16x7.5 Borbets from tire rack and be done with it. |
Don't buy Nittos.
Buy M/T or Hoosiers |
Scroot! I've changed my mind. I'ma goin' with the Borbet type H from tirerack. Please comment, ridicule, etc.

better! those other ones are too rounded This one is similar, but I think I like it better than the OZ. Only thing is, it only comes in 7" wide. I was hoping to fit a 7.5 or 8" wheel. What are some other good sites to buy wheels? |
not really sure. if you decide you want rota's shoot me a pm, they sponsor tommy, by throwing wheels at him

will 15's fit on the car anyways?
With the FD you have to grind the caliper to get them to clear, pretty shisty. |

It's a real bitch to get a lug nut on there with the 21mm socket, it's the same size as the hole, I spose if you are using smaller lug nuts you should be ok. Heres a pic of my car with the rims. http://www.rx7club.com/attachment.php?atta...mp;d=1142293546 http://www.rx7club.com/attachment.php?atta...mp;d=1143584646 http://www.rx7club.com/attachment.php?atta...mp;d=1143695801 |

I have 255 55 or 60 r16 RA1's on the rear, and 205 55 16 on the front, RA1's actually hook really well at the track, too bad I suck on the strip.
Thats on a 7" wide rim btw, really should be on 8". I am thinking of selling the Borbets in favour of S5TII wheels. |

I suppose finding a good used set of those would be about as easy as finding chicken lips and frog hair. |
