i drive into the city as long as its a weekend, I know alot of street parking.

we have friends in the village, and even when I go to the javits you park 5 streets up and not only is there street parking but you can

put it in a lot for 1/4 the price of the lots across from the javits

when we used to go out on the weekend there was a time I would drive into the city every single weekend for like 3 years.

That's a pretty good ways isn't it? I was on Long Island once--Stony Brook, I think--and one thing's for sure, that island is well-named.

I want to tell you a story about public transportation. I dont know about your area but I live in the Seattle area. I took a bus the other day to Seattle from my city of Everett, its a 15 minute drive normally. I took the bus because I was going with some friends and they convinced me, good idea, just kidding. :(

Keep in mind, 15 minutes (15 miles away). It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to Seattle. I stood the whole way because the bus was too crowded. I had to go 5 miles PAST my area to get on another bus to go 5 miles through slow, city streets where I finally got to my destination. When I tried to go home, it took me 3 hours. 3 ******* hours to go 15 miles. And Im not exaggerating. I did not miss any buses, I did not get off at any wrong stops, etc... it just took THAT long.

Also, the only way to figure out which buses I needed to take, was to ask the not so helpful bus drivers or the pissed of scum bags who regularly roll the loser cruiser.

I've used the community transit in many third world countries and ALL of them were more efficient than our public transportation in my area. **** these guys, I dont want to pay a cent to them. They suck at life. Plus everythings dirty and smells like piss.

This is not so much an indictment of public transit as it is an indictment of state and local government in your area. Granted, I don't have a lot of experience on public transit, but both the Blacksburg Transit bus system and the D.C. Metro subway are reasonably clean and well-run.

Please copy the local transit commission and tell them what you told us!

He's not even saying top-rate euro busses!! He's talking those guys in the three-wheeled taxis in thailand...way more efficient!

In Japan the average lateness of some of the high-speed trains is 6 seconds!!!
