To the general selling public. If you advertise something for sale don't go out of town immediately after posting the ad just wait until you get back to post the damn thing. And if a billion people respond to your ad it's generally understood etiquette to give the first person who replies the first shot. Sure, it's ultimately your right to be a dick, close your eyes and throw a dart, or take the most recent email and sell to that person. But most people that don't have their head fully up their *** don't operate that way.
