so the chrome surrounds for the tail lights on my mercedes are prolly 5# each, no wonder the car is 3800lbs......

They actually build cars sturdier now than they did 15 years ago anyway. Crash protection and all.



Surprised that one is only 3800. The 300C is 4100 or something like that.

i'm thinking i could pull 500lbs out of the car really easy

1. ditch the air suspension (its got a 1 cylinder air ompressior, air tank, 3 valves, lines etc)

2. the a/c (which works btw) is prolly 50lbs

3. fg/cf hood, trunk lid, bumpers

4. the ps pump is a vikers, anything made by a ww1 airplane company cant be all that light, plus the iron enclosure its in

5. spare tire is a full size steel wheel, with bridge trusses to hold it in the car.

6. the later v-8's are aluminium block

7. that wonderful aut-o-magic transmission, it upshifts too early

What merc (that's short for mercedes by the way ) have you got? Chrome surrounds sounds old.
