Here's my girl. I like to tell people she's a Corsky because from the neck down, she's got the long, low-to-the-ground build of a Corgi. From the neck up, she's got a Husky's look including the erect ears and one blue eye.

She's a total riot and has us laughing all the time. See her blurry tail? That's because it's always wagging. She's three years old, was already house broken, loves other dogs, loves young kids and only barks when she hears someone outside the door. In other words...perfect.

We got her from the local shelter for $124. That includes her being spayed and current vaccinations. I feel sad for those people that pay $1200 for a dog just to say it's pure bred. They just don't know how perfect a shelter dog can be.

louie like 3 weeks before he could leave his mother, we went to visit him to make sure he was coming from a good home. Like 120 miles away but it was well worth the trip, couldnt ask for a dog from a nicer home.

Tilly. Beagle/dachsund mix. Old pic. She is a young 11 and has a few more white hairs on her face than what this pic shows. Regularly jumps our, 4 foot or so, wall.

I could not concur more about the mixed breed/pound puppy/adopted dogs being great pets. My belief is that a dog's temperament is all in how it is raised and treated.

First place I would go is the pound. I'd like to be able to drive a truck in empty and drive a truck out completely full of animals knowing I've saved everyone one of them. Any time I donate money or do a charity event it is almost exclusively for the ASPCA. In fact, there is a new building being constructed right now.

I've done some community service at the local ASPCA and, while conditions are not, by any means, optimal, I never saw an animal abused. The animals are fed, watered and kept out of the weather.

I could go on...
