yeah diesel engine cost in a VW is about 1k over the gas engine.. the new one is supposed to get like 50 mpg though.. not bad IMO..



there was a company in holland that had a sportbike with a VW lupo turbo diesel engine in it.. i think it was called thunderstar... that thing would get like 150 mpg. looked badass too.. but was like in the ducati / benelli range..

I like diesels like i said, they love abuse, they are kinder to the environment and they last forever.

i say we do like the smaller countries and buy bikes.



thats what i did...work and back = 45 miles



TII work and back = broke!



with the amount im saving in gas in this last week. thats enought to pay my bike payment and have extra cash for some chex mix while im filling up!



seriously. im saving about 130 a month after paying the bike payment and all that. and it will start everytime! COLD ac too!



oh...and its a 900cc cruiser, heavy bike. loud pipes. i cant imagine what sport bikes get. gotta be way better than mine.

My dad has a suzuki boulevard c50(cruiser), pipes, kuryakyn intake, and a power commander. I have a Kawasaki zx7r, race exhaust, race intake, jetted, tuned, geared, etc. If I baby my bike, I get about 42 mpg. If I enjoy it, I get high 30's. If I beat on it a lot, I get about 34 mpg. My dads bike gets 45-48 mpg, regardless.



If only i could actually get away with taking the bike to work...
