Let's hope this wakes up some people and shuts up the fools trying to shove hybrid technology down our throats. It's time to let science determine the future of the automobile and get politics out of the way!

in the long run i'd rather have regular updated technology.. like the diesel.. than new fangled hybrid crap that may prove to be a pain to maintain in the future.. who cares as long as they dont outlaw rotaries!! MIKE FOR PREZ!

Or even a diesel hybrid. I guess i am slanted to one way because i love diesels, always have. We've been seriously looking at the jetta or maybe even the audi a4 although i dont know when it will get the new diesel.

you got to drive over 100k miles a year to make up the extra cost of diesel vehicle compared to its gas version.

like $8000 - $9000 in a pickup, they make you buy a better tranny at the same time.
Back when deisel was cheaper, I added it up for my dad when he was buying a 3/4 ton pickup. With 25% better fuel economy and farm deisel (no road tax), it would have been paid off by 150,000 kms. I don't know how maintenance costs compare up to that mileage though.
