My constructive day was Saturday. Finished cutting the tile for our "awesomest room of the house" project. Tired of freezing my fingers with the damn wet saw. I can't wait to finish this crap. Still have to lay the cut tile, seal, grout, seal, move the piano, lay tile where the piano was, etc.
ain't home renovations great?

Been there done that. I had to jackhammer out 2 rooms of ugly pink tile the homeowners before me put in. Nothink like wrestling a 50 lb jack hammer from 7:00 until 2:00 in the morning for 2 nights straight.
Then we tiled the entire living area of the house. Living room, kitchen, hallway and utility room. I cannot rmember how many square feet of tile we layed it was a lot. My friend came over and helped he lays tile for a living that made it go really really fast.
I remember when I was jackhammering. I felt like I was never going to get all the tile out.

but we've also: painted that room, put down floating floor in 3 other bedrooms (pergo), painted 2 other bedrooms, put track lighting in the kitchen, got a dining "nook" (I call it a booth), light fixture over that, 3 new ceiling fans, 1 with medallion (looks awesome!), new chandelier, and much much more on the list to go. There's nothing like making a house your own.
so my car sits....waiting for it's new MC to be installed

We are in the same hell!!! I just finished wood flooring 2 rooms too. Paint!! HA!! You need to meet my wife. She is not happy unless there is fresh paint somewhere in the house.
We got a new bedroom set a month or so ago, ypu, you guessed it the whole bedroom had to be painted over for the new set. Even though the 2 year old paint on the walls matched it had to change. Oh! then the Master bath didn't match so yeah it had to be painted. But wait! The towel rack the TP dispenser were outdated. I had to tear them out of the wall leaving gaping holes then drywall and patch the holes and paint the whole bathroom over.
Has your wife discovered **** finishes yet. Oh, I mean Foux Finishes. Those are so much fun! Its like painting the room three times.
You have my pity sir. The worst part of being in Florida is that you can work in the yard 12 months a year. I rested because I have a bouganvillia I have to tear out over the holiday weekend. I will take pics of this monster. I will surey get tore up tearing it out. It has 3" long spikes all over it.

bouganvillia
My wife is the crazy paint woman, but she's the one who does all the painting. So I think that's what's keeping us from the faux finish crap. Owalls have a cool texture on them, so we like it how it is. We painted one wall in our bedroom a dark red, and with the textured/raised plaster, it looks like leather.
But you sound like you got it bad. My condolences.
You sound like you have more of an idea of what you're doing than I do, but anyways, here's a good forum: home repair
