so as we all know, people seem to be named after what they did, like robert smith's great great great great grandfather was probably a blacksmith or something, and a thompson would be the son of thomp.

jacks last name is hosee, does this mean his relatives see ho's?

discuss!

I read that book, Jennifer Government, where the people change their last name to the name of their employer, like John McDonald, or Jennifer Government. Which seems weird and extreme to some people, but not when you compare it to those names like Mason, Smith, and my neighbor Frederick Garbageman.

200 years ago that was prolly true, but at this point in our melting pot history last names mean little to one's heritage.

I mean if it were the case today then banzai would be Jon Harryratfuckersonofabitch, Steve's would be Mightbegay

**** wait that would be if the last name described the person, not their job.

I would be Scott Uselessbastardthatwilldoanythingtoavoidactuallywor king

and that would take a long time to write out
