King Kong

yeah. Adrien Brody was on The Daily SHow a few days back and was talking about this. He and Jon Stewart were joking around saying that LOTR was Peter Jackson's practice film for King Kong (the original version of which inspired him to become a film maker), and that the reason he didn't do the gorilla first is that nobody would finance him, so he made LOTR as s showpiece to get financing. Which is probably partially true.

Go and see this you won't be disappointed. A little long in the beginning, but you forget about that by the end.
