Yeah no kidding. I think it happened in front of the guy I knew if I remember the story correctly. He popped his neck and dropped straight to the floor like a sack of potatoes. The whole time the chiropractor was messing with my neck I couldn't help but think of that story.

I've seen on the news a couple times stories of chiropractors killing someone when they "adjusted" their neck. I'll pass.

well, the actuator thing I mentioned before would be a good alternative to the neck-breaking method. Since force=mass x acceleration, the thing gives a quick and painless jab, thus creating a strong force with little physical movement.

please... killed by an adjustment?? There are things that you need to look out for (calcification in the arteries, extreme osteoporosis, etc.) that may contraindicate a certain technique for that particular patient but killing people?? Just look at the cost of malpractice insurance for Chiroprators compared to just about any other profession... dirt cheap, there is almost no risk of injury. No more martial art movies for you... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

This was more than one case in the local news. Early 20's woman killed there on the table. Reported the chirpractor did his "adjustment" and she started to choke and foam at the mouth until she was dead. I can't pull up the articles because it was a few years ago and the newspapers charge for online archive searches. Here is the only reference I could find to it without a long search. You know a lot of chiropractors flunked out of med school, right?
