Whoo, lots of bone popping going on. I decided to have a checkup the other day since my girlfriend goes, and after looking at the test results I figured i'd go ahead and let him do some adjustments. Most of the problems were in my neck. I never knew there were that many bones to pop in my neck, it was almost scary. My back had a couple areas that needed aligning. But it was cool, i'll probably go a few more times to make sure everything stays where its suppose to.

I used to do computer work for a chiropractor...I always wanted an "alignment" as payment...I just thought it would feel really good, which I'm sure it did!

The chiropractor I go to does a lot of Firefighters and cops. He is really good. When I am healthy (no muscles pulled etc.) I go once every couple of months. Since I pay cash its only $30 a visit. I feel a differance after going. When he cracks my neck it seems so wrong.

The "pop" that you hear is just gas being released from the fixed joint once motion is applied to it (like when you "crack" your knuckles). It does sound a little weird the first time if you are not expecting it though.

for awhile, I went to a chiropractor who used an "acuator," which was a hand-held device that gave a quick poke. I never noticed a difference, so I stopped going. Now I want to go to a bone-cracking guy.

you know how CO2 gas is dissolved in cola, then you lower the pressure by opening it, then bubbles form out of the liquid....well, joints are like that. There's a fluid sac that has dissolved gas, and when you lower the pressure by stretching out the joint, a bubble of the gas pops out of the liquid. That's why it's hard to do it twice in a row, because the gas has to dissolve back in the liquid. At least that's how I understand it. Someone let me know if I'm wrong.

So why do people say that popping your knuckles is bad?
