Don't pay any attention to the above post, try the New Member's Forum, you won't get that there LOL.

PhoenixDownVII 12-09-2003 09:32 AM

Details? Details? Oh, and details...

*Welcome*

defprun 12-09-2003 09:35 AM

You double zip tie all the vaccuum hoses yet so they dont fly off?

Oh..and welcome! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Eyxom 12-09-2003 09:39 AM

40,000 miles, 3mm apex seals, slight engine port, pettit ecu upgrade, 3" downpipe and cat back, TKT pulley kit, running 10 psi, then slowly creeps to 12, B&M short throw, aluminum air splitter. Garage kept. Emaculate.

Performance wise I'm only going to add a nice FMIC, get hard piping, APEX'i BOV, turbo timer, and a boost controller. The rest will be looks.

Got it for $16,500.

I wouldn't let that "Creeps to 12" get that out of hand unless the car is tuned for it (although you mentioned an ECU upgrade). Hopefully the car is not running rich or lean!

Good job, cept you forgot color and options..and PICS! (Did you buy it off a Rotary fanatic? From here or the *other* forum?) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683246.gif

Eyxom 12-09-2003 09:55 AM

It's stock red with the R1 package. I got it off of Autotrader. I'll take some pics when I get the chance.

banzaitoyota 12-09-2003 09:58 AM

start saving for the new engine@@@

treceb 12-09-2003 10:06 AM

congrats on the purchase and joining the forum, u wont regret either.

is this your first rotary?? i owned a first gen and then went straight to third gens, and its being a lil hard to get used to it. im starting to really like it now as opposed to not much when i first got it.

Jims5543 12-09-2003 10:36 AM

It would not hurt to take a drive to Pettit Racing and have Cameron look the car over. It sounds like they already did go through it

TKT = Turn Key Terror https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The Pettit ECU is programmed to handle more boost so you are probably fine. I personally would schedule to do a pull on Pettits dyno to make sure its not running lean.

We (Mazdadrifter and I) should be heading to Tower Shops in January. Hope we can meet up. I am about 30 minutes North of West Palm.

Eyxom 12-09-2003 10:50 AM

Awesome give me a pm before you head down.

And yes it's my first rotary. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Fd3BOOST 12-09-2003 11:05 AM

Congrats, I just wish you didnt plan on modding the body.

They look good already.

What did you plan on doing?

YucA 12-09-2003 11:48 AM

hey let me know when you guys go to the tower shops, im like 30-45 mins away from that. been there a few times...

1Revvin7 12-09-2003 12:48 PM

Congrats! Check out the 99 spec body pieces..

twinturboteddy 12-09-2003 01:08 PM

OH yey another FD owned by a teenager

banzaitoyota 12-09-2003 01:18 PM

I guve it 3 months :(

Eyxom 12-09-2003 01:18 PM

Yea I don't want anything too wild. The simplest I would go is probably the Spirit R stuff. Either the Mazdaspeed GTC body kit, and for a second I was eyeing the wide bodies from RE but I don't think I want to go that far. Either get a red w/ orange pearl or black paint job with the flat clear RE Amemiya headlight kit. Carbon fiber wing and hood and some nice machined rims.

If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to let me know. And if you can, post pictures or links that would be great since I'm still new to the RX world, even though I've wanted one for God only knows how long.

Vick 12-09-2003 01:19 PM

congratulations.

banzaitoyota 12-09-2003 01:20 PM

Are you paying your own insurance?

???

Eyxom 12-09-2003 01:21 PM

I'm paying for the car and the insurance. Just because I'm 18 doesn't mean I don't make more money than a well off adult. That's what a good education in computers will get you folks.

Vick 12-09-2003 01:23 PM

I think they were hinting at you being irresponsible. You see teenagers+fast cars=irresponsibility. They go hand and hand.

banzaitoyota 12-09-2003 01:25 PM

Vast Majority of FD's owned by people <25 end up WRECKED!!!

j9fd3s 12-09-2003 01:26 PM

vast majority of fd's have been wrecked, i know of 2 with original paint

banzaitoyota 12-09-2003 01:28 PM

I know of 1, been owned by the same owner since new!

Of course we won't count the replacemnet drivers door,

Eyxom 12-09-2003 01:29 PM

Yea I know they're dangerous. It's a lot of power that I'm going to have to respect... You don't drive the car, it takes YOU for a ride. I think I'll be ok though...

Ummm not really....I don't agree with that completely. I am 19 and I have done evrything to my car! Just rebuilt my own engine this past weekend. Now being 18 and learning how to drive on an FD. That is a different story! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R

I don't agree either. I was 18 when I bought mine.

I was just pointing out what TTT meant.

Will do. Dvls7 always starts threads in the SE section. If we are going for sure we will post up in there. Mazdadrifter just left work early to go mess w/ his car. They will hopefully fire it up tonight. Then some buttoning up and off to the dyno for some tuning. Wahoo!!

rfreeman27 12-09-2003 02:26 PM

I drive two FD's and have not wrecked either one...

One is with 300+ rwhp...

...OK OK i hit a deer going 15 mph....but i dont see that as a 'wreck, just very bad luck....

The majority, perhaps. But dont underestimate somebody's driving ability just because their age..

You know what was kinda dumb and always pissed me off? At the end of part II when he jumped in mid-air. That fool was made out of GOLD and he lives in New York City. Wouldn't he be ripped apart by crackheads by the end of the day?

FrestyleFC3S 12-09-2003 02:38 PM

Vick 12-09-2003 02:39 PM

Uh... If the car takes you for a ride, you're not in control. If you're not in control, it is only a matter of time before you're not longer driving it. Sell now, for the sake of the car.

Eyxom 12-09-2003 08:42 PM

Holy crap... Flame me some more why don't you. It's a figure of speech. I know how to drive and I know to give respect when it's due. Get off my back.
