Don't worry, you'll be able to trade in your $300 worth of books back in to the bookstore at the end of the semester for a whopping $20.
Best solution - buy used, or find someone in the same program one year ahead of you who will loan you their books . Assuming the required books are the same as the previous year, which they probably are not.

Try half.com for buying and selling used books....it's a much better deal than the bookstore.

Holy ****, some of you guys have it BAD. I looked at amazon.com, B&N, and Borders, but all are the same prices as I payed. I bought all used books too. I received 2K from my grant, I'm paying 800 for classes, 300 for books, 100 on Inital D the BOX SET , and the rest will go towards the FD fund. Bush should lower the prices on college books, WTF, help us out dude.
