I personally thought back in the day Dave was way funnier. I think that had a lot to do with him not getting the gig. Dave was doing cutting edge stuff. A lot of his gags and skits are being used today by other talk shows. Back when he would do his stuff people were in shock.

 

Oh **** when Richard Simmons was on his show, OMG that was the funniest **** i have ever seen on a talk show. Richard would fly around the room and dave would shoot at him with a fire extinguisher!!!

 

Actually Carson wanted Letterman as his successor, NBC wanted LEno. Just last week I was reading where Johnny would still send Letterman stuff for his Monolouge/

Dave was funny back in his early days on late night(NBC), his cbs move ended that. Jay Leno is an ***, I never liked him. Personally I think the best guy right now is Conan O'Brien

 

I dont like any of them...not like Carson. O'Brien aggrevates me to no end. He is a winey bitch with fucked up hair and squinty eyes. The writers or not that good and his schtick timming sucks. Andy wouldve been better....probably why they can'd him.

And this Napoleon O' Brien is gonna take over for Jay the donky jawed

host.
