Yeah they are, they were allways kinda hard to get, I should have kept mine, and got the FD too. I see a few here and there, most are all beat to **** now. It's a shame. The vr6 models came with hand stitched real leather interior, the motorized wing that popped up around 38MPH, and some other nice goodies. Before I did the engine work, I did the standard suspention work(struts/springs,swaybars,strut bars) I swear to god the car felt like it was riding on rails, the handling was unbelievable. However after I pushed every possible HP outof the VR6(well back in 99' anyway) I got bored with it, so then came the FD

**** the Jetta, if you want a VR6 get a Corrado. Mine handled so well, and was damn quick! Plus the Corrado has a nice body style, not like a jetta that you see 1 million of them on the road every day
Have you ever seen EIP Tuning's? I watched it run down a 996 Turbo... No joke.

I think they made it AWD now...

yeah EIP was just getting a name for itself when I started my corrado from hell. Those ******* told me that if I bought a turbo kit from them and they were not the one's to install it I would have no warranty on any of the parts. That was some fucke up ****, especially becouse back then, there were no turbovr6(hey, my name ) cars running around and they wanted about $7500 for their kit.

So I sourced out my own ****, made 340 to the wheels, and snapped axles every week. hence I sold the car

Too bad EIP's a ******* rip off joint. They won't refund ANYTHING, even if they install it wrong or if it's defective. They have the worst reputation of just about any aftermarket place in the US.

Yeah, they make fast VDubs.. but only if you're rich enough to keep them interested.

I've owned two Jettas. Didn't like either.

FWD sucks. VW is the Ford of Germany.. so everything freaking breaks constantly. VW gouges for service (although coming from an Rx.. it may not be that bad). Don't bother suping it up. Unless you have drags on, a FWD car isn't going anywhere fast. Even if you have drags on Physics is working against you.

If I had to get another I'd probably get the VR6 with leather. But I'd rather castrate myself with a toothpick first.

The VW might be a less expensive car in the long run than the 7. But if you like having a sports car the VW is not for you.

If you have any more specific questions feel free to shoot 'em my way.
maybe for the new ones....but the old aircooled ones were a dream. ive seen plenty of them get over 200K miles without a single problem.
