I don't think it's really right to turn the guy in. I am not 100% sure, but my guess would be the dealer might still do the motor, having worked at a dealer it's really up to the service manager if he wants to do the repairs, often they will do the repairs knowing the person prolly fucked it up in order to keep the customer or to gain a future one. I've seen the dealer replace motors out of warranty cause they don't want to loose the customer.
