Jdm Engines...red Paint?

I've seen alot of pictures of JDM rotary engines imported with a red spray painted mark on them. Does this signify something?

Probably painted by the builder. We do that to our motors at the customer's request. High temp engine paint works well.

not rebuilt, just yanked out of a japanese car and exported overseas. Like this:

Junk engine... meaning it came out of a junk car.



They mark it like that, also the car too for some reason.. Never really understood why..



Usually if its bad they write BAD in english in RED too.
