Daddy Mac :Yeah I already thought about that. I don't think they have the ***** to do it anyways.
I talked to his insurance company today and they siad it woul take a few days to get the claim processed and for their local branch to contact to me. They also said that they might even send me to a shop to have it looked at and get an estimate from them. I'll be taking it to the two highest priced dealers here in town if they let me do this.

Yeah it's an FC. The thing about it though is that the body is in great condition for a 13 year old car.
Joe can you explain a little more about the private matter thing? I'm not originally from Texas and don't know much about the law out here. I called my insurance company already to see if they knew what to do and they said that I need to call the kids insurance company and file a claim with them. Is this the way it needs to happen? If not can you explain to me what I need to do? Do I need a lawyer? Do I have to go to court or something? Any extra insight on this would be great. This way I can get my money and possibly buy a FMIC and a fuel pump. I figure the bumper can hold out for a little longer. Most of the damage is not visible ao I can hide it. Anyways let me know how I need to go about doing this. Thanks.

Well...If you got hit in a parking lot like you said you did then it is private property. Nobody can get involved. If the police gave him a ticket it can't be just because he hit you. it could be for something like wrecklessly driving or somthing like that. It has to be settled by the two parties. Do not mention this to the kids parents!! Because sometimes they want to pay out of their own pocket. And some insurances do cover it...I forgot what the coverage is called though. The reason I know this is because the same thing happened to my friend. The guy looked at my friends camaro....said tough luck and drove off. The cops couldn't do anything either. I hope I didn't put a damper on things because you deserve what is owed to you. You can take him to court also!! But you will get your money! :bigthumg:

Well I talked the kid's insurance company today and they said they will allow me to take it to a shop of my choice. The only thing they stipulated is that they pay the shop and not me. Oh well I guess I won't get that FMIC after all. Well atleast I get a new front end. I needed one of those anyway. The paint was fading on my original 13 year old bumper.
