kevin.
word to that our shop has to supply us with ice cold beverages so we dont dehydrate so you can chill and slack and be all "oh man its humid so i have to take a break and have some water, im getting dizzy" lol |

im well accustomed to manual labor, i sorta enjoy working hard. kevin.
I'm assuming clearing brush from property lines for surveying. I've done it. It is hard work, but at least your not stuck inside all day. And I'm like you, I'm used to it, and I feel sick in a way if I don't get out and work at some point during the day. |
Yeah I guess I didn't make that clear. Its taking a bush axe and clearing a path through the woods for various purposes. Thick woods, no air, hot sun, bugs.... OH **** this reminds me...while I was home to NC for a couple weeks a surveyor died doing wetland deliniation like what I'm talking about. He got heat stroke and aparantly tried to call his wife for help but could only just make breathing noises. They found him the next day slumped over a true stump.
130 dry heat <<< 100 humid heat. trust me. even all of the army guys I know that have come home said 100 degrees over there feels about like 75-80 here because of the lack of humidity. Nevada's the same way. |
the 130+* temps i was subjected to was worse than the 90*+ temps in NC that i'm used to.. I can't wait for the 130's when i get to Kandahar this week.
but the shade in places like that is, what? 20 degrees cooler or something? edit// not trying to say its not bad. I sure as hell don't want to be out in it. |

i dont work next to hot evens and if i did theyd be female ones...
So do i, but our jobs are relatively easy in comparision.working on vehicles sucks in the heat, rolling around on the ground, not usually any good a/c in the shop, maybe a open garage door, which doesn't usually help much. |

edit// not trying to say its not bad. I sure as hell don't want to be out in it.
Yeah its not all that bad sometimes. Honestly I prefer it to Southern Georgia. You gotta remember though. We are in long pant and shirts. Have a kevlar on you're head that seals the heat in. Also 40-50lbs of body-armor, ammo, weapons, water, radios, etc.... |
THAT part would suck. I would go everywhere naked if I could. I'd go nuts and have a heat stroke with all that gear on. Closest I get is a long sleeve shirt, jeans with kevlar chaps over them, a helmet, earmuffs (sound deadening) Leather gloves, and big ass kevlar lined boots. Thats pretty damn hot. And thats working in the woods/swamp where its like 89879324% humidity. fish could live out of water there's so much humidity in the damn air. I'm glad I'm not doing that every week anymore. Like once a month for 3 or 4 days now... |

humidity here was 75% today. the lowest its been in a couple weeks.
High was 97 feels like 115... damn. |
Yeah, so unless we're golfin, I win. And you have the advantage of being able to walk around in a thong. I just can't seem to talk myself into doing that. |
I did. 2 times. but for good reason. An extremely hot girl bought it for me and said no thong. no sexings. I wore the damn thong for about 5 minutes each time. Very much worth it. |

sweet7 your in Iraq now arn't you? and you lucky bastard going home in Aug. I have to wait until end of sept... and trust me I'd take 100 with humidity over 130+dry heat in the shade anyday..besides Qatar is like 110 + humidity..and I liked that much more than the dry heat here.
