finally, I have my car back! after being in the shop for almost a week, my GTU is back where it belongs, in my driveway, with a brand new aluminum hood, and paint job, not to mention the new shifter bushings that I changed myself, my inner boot was completely melted away, I was covered up to my elbows in goo when I pulled it out, in about 10 pieces, so I replaced that as well as the bushings, the car shifts so much better, now, to run some MMO through it, and it will be like owning a new car!.

How hard was it to do the shifter bushings? this summer i want to put in a short shifter and replace everything i can on the tranny. you think i could do this with some mechanical experience and a haynes manual?

Also what is MMO?

the bushing are very easy to put in. All u have to do is just pop the stick out and pop em in w/ the plastic bushings and the paper gasket and ur done. Fairly simple, thats the first thing i did with my car once i rep[laced my clutch cause i couldnt feel what gear i was in. And I have no mechanical experance.

yeah, the bushings are mind numbingly simple, I was actually stumped for a few minutes since when I did the change, my rubber inner boot was completely liquified, and everything was coated in goo, it took me a while to figure out that you just push the metal disk (that the 3 bolts go into) down over the shifter itself, once it was done, I felt a world of difference right away, it is like everyone says, a whole new car, for $16, from mazdatrix.com, good place, visit link above. (shameless plug, trying to help you out Phinsup)
