My dad is a retired officer from the Marine Corps and he got called a while back to see if he would be willing to go in case they needed him to. He of course said yes and is looking forward to it. So if they are calling up the reserves than I bet he had better start realizing that he may actually be going soon. I hope it is resolved swiftly and decisevly just like last time. One of my best friends is in the Marines and he just got orders to Oki, I wonder if that has anything to do with Korea?

Saw tons of places where they executed people... Like stood them up against a wall and sawed them in half with machine guns... Even cleaned up it was still gut wrenching...

These are some awful stories, at least these new wars are not civic, they are 1 on 1. And not one army killing civilians. I wish everyone the best and hope that our technology helps keep our guys safe. We are only sending half as many troops to Iraq this time as during the Persian Gulf. And I believe 4 Aircraft Carrier Battle Groups. They assume it will a quick war with minimal casulties for us and a decisive victory. We just need the rest of the world to support us in the fight against terrorism once war begins. That will be th worst of it. That and trying to prevent Iraq from bombing Israel, which is one of the places that is in there reach to attack and one that we will defend even though the Isralie citizens dislike Americans as well. I have been there and we are not very liked by the Jewish citizens and we are almost hated by the Muslim citizens. The middle east is suck a mess, I don't know if it will ever end. Hopefully, some day.

just want to toss in a bit of food for thought:
1) Not many countries have ever won a two-front war, it's rare to win one, and basically is how the **** regime was destroyed, attack from both sides and you split their numbers in half, it's common sense. THats what i see going on with N. Korea and the mid-east.
2) I think phins made the comment about war not being good for the economy, if you look back at evey war we've been involved in, during those wars our economy uplifted rather drasically, of course sometimes it would crash AFTER the war and we'd be hit with a depression... but during wars the economy, unexplicably, is VERY good. I still dont think an economy is worth a war though.

ya bigitme now that i think about it that's always the reason they gave.The government and such was in need of more materials and people to work the factories to build machinery and such therefore creating a widespread demand for jobs.....also explains why the economy falters after a war, cause once war is over all those jobs collapse instantly.
