On a positive note:

The most successful people in a community as a group are the small businees owners.

A couple other things to consider:

1. Do you have any businees related education? Your local Tech College can be a big help here.

2. Does a Business Plan exist? are the current owners/ppartners willing to draft one BEFORE you fork over the $$$$$.

3. SCORE: They are very helpful, listen to them. http://www.score.org/

4. What does the BBB have to say about this enterprise? Are they members?

5. You said its LEased PRoperty. How long is the lease for? Any strange clauses in it?
I have some buisness background... Not much. We have already decided on a head manager (The club owner) who will take care of most of the booking.. So I can learn some of the things I don't know. I also plan on attending more classes (when time allows)

Business plan does exsist. I'm searching out a lawyer to look at it with me.

I'll take a look at SCORE

Haven't covered the BBB yet.

I have a copy of the lease, but haven't read it all yet. The lease is for 2 years I think... It's already paid up to August by profit from the previous closed shop..

Thanks John!!

WOW It sounds like you have done your homework. It is easier for me to get excited now.

Thats sounds like a really unique and awesome opportunity. The right place at the right time kinda thing.

Oh and you can get us (NP) inside the world of rice. Like a secret agent or something. You can help us understand the mental-state that is rice-a-roni

You can scare yourself out of things if you over think them. remember that. Your making the right choices and it sounds like your covering your *** well.

I never made my point before I was in a hurry.

Ask yourself, will you regret not doing this, always looking back and wondering if you should have? It seems like its a dream come true. I am not saying to blindly jump in. Be cautious, but if this is what you really want and you can afford to take a gamble go for it. Just make sure you are enjoying yourself.

Thanks! That's EXACTLY what I'm afraid of... The "what if I would have".. I'd hate to pass up a good thing.. Getting in over your head sucks, but I think I could recover!

yeah i think if you dont find any big down sides you should do it.

how is the escape plan setup? can you buy yourself out or what ifyou decide to bail?

if you guys get along that sounds like its a good thing, but you have to be careful about how decisions get made, a little friction now might be a lot worse when theres money involved
