Installed Stereo For A Friend Tonight

Yeah, he and another guy had worked on the thing for about 8 hours and couldn't figure it out. It was just wiring up 2 dvc subs and an amp. Lol. I got it for em though. Had to do some cutting and trimmin on the box to make it fit, and then rewire the subs. no big deal.
Spent about 2 hours and that included drinkin and bullshittin time. It sounds pretty damn good now.
it was going in a 03 single cab f-150. 2 alpine type-r 10's, dual 4 ohm vc. and a rockford 2kw amp, turned about halfway up. It is loud, but still clean. Needs a bigger box, but not much can fit in a single cab.
Neither of the guys had ever messed with dvc subs before, and I've been through my share of em, and I started out not knowing **** about em, so I don't mind teachin a little. Everyone starts somewhere.

I lose the point of bass now. I can't hear **** in the wrangler now, so I just turn the radio dial off. I still have about 600 bucks worth of **** into the old pick-em up trizzuck. Hmmm? I should sell that ****.

yep. his amps birth sheet rated it at 1995w at 1 ohm, we have it wired at 2 ohm, so its putting out right at 850w. The speakers are rated for 300w rms each
I've always know type-r's to handle way more than their rated power. I pounded away with mine recieving 500w each for a long time with no problem.... That was a year or two ago
My tundra has its stock stereo, other than xm, and its going to stay that way...

I used to be really into it, but when I got my truck, I didn't want to lose any cab space, so I didnt' get anything.
When I had my system in my altima I was known to have the loudest stereo per size per watt. It was pretty cool. I had 2 10's with 1500w MAX total power to them and was well up in the 140's on the meter. There were louder systems, but none with just 2 10's. All the louder systems were like 4 12's or bigger.
I had over 60hrs of research and work in my box alone.
