if I could read everyone else's minds, I'd probably cause fights...comon, think about what someone's thinking the first time they're meeting you, or passing you on the street. Everyone judges.

 

It would have to be controlled, like you can't read everyones thoughts, but if I wanted to I could sorta "broadcast" my thought and if you were "responsive" you could see my thought. See what I'm trying to say?

 

no it wouldn't make the world a happier place. imagine if hitler, stalin, osama, clinton, or bush could read everyones minds. or even scarier if we could read theirs. and what if you were walking with your girl and an incredibly gorgeous girl walks by and you think "i would love tap that *** till she shows me what she's workin with" INSTANT DEATH!!! telepathy would actually make war worse...the battles would be bloodier, but the strategy that would go into the battles themselves is actaully and intruiging thought all by itself. how do you fight someone that can predict your moves and when you theirs? the battles would have to me head to head clashes with one side completely destroying the other. also imagine the pain that would be telepathically sent out during a war, it would drive the world mad. also imagine mentaly feeling the pain of a family members death, or a friends? the thought is incomprehendable.

 

The mind is defective. It needs rewiring so that the human will always treat other humans only as it would want to be treated itself.

The point about how horrible the pain would be, would be one reason why we would endeavor to avoid wars. Obviously we would all go insane if you could read everyones thoughts, I am thinking specifically of using your mind to communicate instead of your vocal chords. You don't have to announce your thoughts just like you don't have to speak, however when you chose to communicate, the message you are trying to get across would be soooo much more clear than any language ever could.

true, but that doesn't change the fact that some people are just plain sick. do you honestly thing that telepathy would make the palestinians and jews patch things up, or that someone trying to tell hitler what he is doing was wrong would have fixed things....if anything the information gained from the connection would be used against you. now as far as other things go i'm right there with you. like sex...that would own all with a mental link to your woman. sports, imagine 2 teams in perfect mental meld working against each other. like all things though the power would be abused, and there will still be idiots, and the idiots that follow them.

I was just trying to throw something out there, and I don't know man, I don't think it would magically solve all our problems. However, much has been accomplished in the past through verbal negotiations, Iand think that telepathy would aid substantialy in this process as you can literally "show" someone what you mean instead of trying to explain it to them.
