Warranty's are great on cars that need them. Get a used IS300 (Basically the same package as the Rx8) and you'll pay a lot less, and probably have a lot less problems too.
I don't know, the Rx8 is just too pricey, I'll need to drive one myself to really see what you mean...I guess...

maybe he likes the rotary like he stated above, and the 2 seat factor of the rx7 blows, you always have to take 2 cars if it's your dd, and you and your buddies want to go out, and rule out drinking.

I thought used cars were the way to go for many years, until I started putting a value on my own time and sanity. I love my RX-7 and I enjoy working on it, HOWEVER when used cars are something you have to rely on to get to work, get your wife to work and get you home and you HAVE to **** with them on cold winter days because it's your only option and the thing **** out on you in the middle of intersection I quickly realized the value of reliable transportation.
I've got two cars that I know will always start when I turn the key and I've got my RX-7 that if it does break I can fix at my own pace and in my spare time, I don't need to get it back together.
When you're young you value your money more then your time, when you get older you start to put a little more value on your free time

I've owned 4 150k+ mile Honda/Toyota's that NEVER left me stranded anywhere, and did nothing more than sometimes need a tune-up or a window motor....
And sometimes doing those small things becomes a fun thing for your free time with a friend...certainly never took long to take care of something on the ol' Honda.

And sometimes doing those small things becomes a fun thing for your free time with a friend...certainly never took long to take care of something on the ol' Honda.

Why not get a new Mustang? Phins has one, he can chime in with that, and I have driven the V6 model, and it is a GREAT car. It has alot of power, it looks good on the eyes, retro dash.
Check out the Mustang just for your sake Sinful. And it is Ford, I have had one Ford break down on me. That is out of 2 Fords though. lol The 94 F-150 I have right now needs the power steering pump replaced, that is the only major maintenance done it so far. It is coming close to 163k miles.

I covered that comment when I said "when I was younger I used to think".
You've been driving for 6 years... I didn't have high blood pressure when I was 16, didn't mean it was never going to happen.
I decided to have at least one car with a warranty when Amy was going to school and driving home at 11PM by herself each night. It worried the hell out of me driving our 84 GSL-SE even though i rarely had problems with it... it only takes once for her to be stranded on the side of the road at midnight by herself.
And her car before that was a 88 Acura Integra, sooooo.... wherever you were going with your "spoken like a domestic owner" didn't go anywhere.

I'm quite happy with the Mustang, it's a comfy ride, looks nice, has plenty of power and features for the price.
There's nothing wrong with the RX-8 either, they are a fun sporty car with plenty of horsepower and tons of good looks.
Car shopping you gotta kind of set your price range, then go look at the cars that you can get in that price range. We wanted to stay under 20k when bought the mustang and in that price range it's hard to beat it.
My dad had two ford trucks and he loved them, the first one he did oil changes and a couple tune ups, sold it at close to 200k, the second he didn't do any tune ups and he was pretty infrequent on oil changes, it was running like a champ when he sold it at 160k, he just didn't need a big truck anymore. He never had even small issues with either one.
There's nothing wrong with a Honda or a Toyota either, they make very reliable cars, I personally don't like the feel of the honda/acura's they aren't very comfy and they aren't very fun to drive, but they are reliable transportation.
