I'm Was Bored

I've been playing with the stereo system in the mini a little bit. The stock stereo is kinda weak and so are the speakers. But since the stereo is an actual "mini" stereo, I wanted to keep that original. So I took the 200watt amp I had, and ran the stereo into that, then pushed the speakers. This was a huge improvement, and amazingly the way the speakers sit in the car, being in the rear and over the trunk, they pump out a ton of bass for little 5 1/4". So then their wasn't enough treble and I couldn't really crank up the volume for loud crisp music, so I broke down and bought a component set. Should be pretty kick ***, I can't wait till it arrives.

Yeah even for really crappy radio shack looking speakers it sounds pretty good. I still can't get over how much bass they put out after I hooked up the amp, something about how the speakers sit in the back and fit down into the trunk I guess. With a good tweater speaker combo it will be perfect.

Yeah exactly! 200watts blasting into two crappy speakers doesn't make for quality sound. I've used these same alpine style speakers before in the rx7, had a 8" sub in a bandpass box with a component setup up front, and WOW did it sound good...till some bastard stole it.
