Ok I'm gona copy and paste what I wrote for the mini guys.

At any rate I'm back home and what a trip it was. Wind, fire, snow, deserts, no sleep, and cops.

The trip started out pretty nice after picking a buddy up to take along for about half the trip. We left Tulsa at 11am on Sunday. Got pulled over for doing 53 in a 45 on my way to OKC.

Met up with Dean and David in OKC and they were nice enough to lend me a coil just in case mine went bad.

Then it began to get SUPER windy in the pandhandle of Texas. Had to be 50kt winds out there. Rocked the truck all over interstate 40, which eventually was closed down to wild fires.

After sitting in traffic and being evacuated out of the area we found a secret way to get back on route 66. It had to be the only road not barracaded so we thought we'd give it a try. Funny thing was it eventually dumped us back on 40, where we were the only people on the road for about a 50 mile stretch. There was smoke, ash, and fire during that period of time, my throat actually hurt the next day because of the smoke. Grabbed a couple pics on the run since I wasn't about to stop, I think my buddy got some better pics of the fire so I'll have to get ahold of him.

Some time later we entered Mexico, where I eventually dropped him off at the airport in Albuquerque.

This is where I spent the night.

Did I mention it was cold? Yeah I thought I was gona die from hypothermia. A heater in the truck would have come in handy at this point.

Some time later I passed out in some petrified forest park.

This was somewhere in Arizona. I thought it was suppose to be hot there

Then I hit California. Made it to Panoma at about 3am Tuesday morning. A total distance of about 1500 miles.

The truck made friends with its new owner and probably feels right at home in its new garage.

The new owner was a super great guy and took me around the LA area. I had too much fun hauling *** around Hollywood and the other surrounding areas. I can already say that I plan to take another trip out there in a mini just to have fun on the roads.

Now on the way home I got pulled an additional 2 times in Texas. First time was 78 in a 70. Then 10 minutes later got pulled for doing 74 in the 70. I felt a little harassed on the 2nd time, seemed peculiar to me. Last time I got pulled before this trip was in 2002 or early 2003. Go figure. Luckily they were all warnings.

OH I went to the grand canyon also.

THE END

Dude, thats awesome! You are brave for travelling all that way in a British car. I would NEVER have attempted that in my MGB. Mike and I probably would have ended up stranded in Shafter.

It was an adventure. I had to flush my coolant and take out my thermostat in Texas because it was trying to run hot.

Does seem odd to see snow in Arizona, it was warm here and Arizona had waist high snow!

Sounds like fun!

Why the hell are they pulling you over for going 74 in a 70 though?

It was total harassement. I got pulled 10 minutes before that for 78, which I thought ok thats fair. Although people were passing me. Then I get pulled a matter of minutes later for 74 when people were still hauling *** by me. I was in some tiny red car with California plates is all I can figure. He came up to my window and said I clocked you speeding back there and my response was "74!!?" Like you gotta be ******* shitting me! He replied, ahhh well yeah 74.

I didn't bring enough clothes. I thought Arizona...NewMexico...deserts...its gona be at least warm. It was 14 that night out there. I thought I was gona ******* die. If the truck had broke down it might have been game over. Haha.
