I was at the local Walmart today and i noticed a FD in the parking lot. I was looking at it, admiring it obviously, when he came over to see what i was doing.



First a little background to the car. It was painted all silver with black tribal wannabe stuff all over it, nothing impressive. He had put a typical rice type wing on it (not typical for a 7, our local morons cars), and it was covered in NOS stickers with matching seat belt covers and floormats.



So he asks me if i like the car, and i say yes i have always admired the FD body style the most. The following is the conversation.



Me: x

Him: c



c: FD? No its an RX7.

x: umm...no kidding, its an FD type.

c: No dude RX7, by mazda...

x: There are different body types, for example mine is an FC, yours is FD, or third generation.

c: o, didnt know that.



And if that wasnt bad enough:



x: Any motor work done to it?

c: Had dome pistons installed...

x: Uhh.....it doesnt have pistons, RX7 is a rotary powered car.

c: o i junked that crappy motor, they suck.



AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! People like that should be shot, that poor, poor car has a 4cyl in it.....thats not right.

That is bad. I can see an LS-1 with some work done to it, but not an inline 4.

I THINK it was a civic motor. Thoughts of stealing the car and doiing a 20B swap were running through my blood.

No not really, and the power of the rotary way beats the 4cyl.

Yea but the rotary is the entire essence of the RX7, imo. Without a rotary, its a ruined dream car.

i agree, but that doesnt change the fact that it would be lighter.

well its not so much the weight, but where it is placed. I am not sure where the weight is with the LS1 swap, but i would be more concerned about that.

Yeah well get this...I ran into a guy a couple weeks ago who said his Father had and FD with a 3 rotor. So I was a little surpised cause its not everyday you find someone with a 3 rotor FD. So as I ask him about the conversion, he says well its setup so the 3rd rotor runs the whole time at the high rpms....ya know how those first two rotors will spin then the 3rd one kicks in. I was like...riiight yeeahh well gotta go.

hahahahahah...... how much you wanna bet that the rx7 with the nos stickers is completely stock, and no swap, sriously even if you did swap, you would know well what a rotary is.

almost as stupid as my brother's friend who says his 626 or millenia (forgot which onee) has a quad rotor engine. Even after martin explained to him, to this day he still claims that. Actually i think he got wiser and now says it's a v8, atleast it's a piston engine

I'm glad you posted this, because the other thread where everybody was whining about the engine in someone else's car was dying out.

it definitly had the swap, i got too look under the hood because i didnt believe the *******. It made me want to cry.
