1993 Black R1 TT RX7 : )
34 miles from my house with 500 miles on rebuilt motor and 8k on rebuilt twins. Black exterior and tan interior, sun roof, hks BOV, turbo timer, some other minor mods. Its auto but i slipped her around the block and fell in LOVE. Garage kept and only 54k on the chassis. New tires, and only 13,900.00!!!! Hes a huge enthousiast whos selling it to pay tword his RX8 (got a ride in it, its an ok car!), so he agreed to keep it garaged until christmas (when i can technically pick it up cuz ill have the loan) and let me come by and test drive it if i need some re-inforcement on my decision. God, im in love! |
Will you be converting it to a 5spd?
Thats pretty low miles on the body, good find. |
dont know, going to just drive her for a while, im happy how she is : ) !!!
|

cheap. |

And when i mean really bad, I mean horrible. Do some searching on the subject man, i would NEVER buy an auto FD. |
Yep. Hold out on a 5 speed. You can get a pretty decent manual for $13.5.
|
what is SO bad about the auto?? Everything/one just says its bad, what gives?
|
a RX-7 is the type of car you buy to drive, to be in contact with the
car and the road. Its not like its a practical or a comfortable car. Its best enjoyed with a manual. Its also faster with one, if and when you mod the car the automatic will only take so much, there isnt alot out there to make the auto stronger besides putting another type of auto in there like a powerglide or some **** like that. There was someone on the board with a auto who was having a custom made torque converter, not sure of his progress, try doing a search |
what about a shift kit? If i wanted to go nuts i can always convert the car
|
trust me there are plenty of FDs out there, dont get all anxious and
buy the first one you drive. the drivers seat looks pretty shot if you ask me. you will regret the auto in the long run. |
ok, i am overly excited....ok breathing lol. All the 5spds i find arent black or have rlly insane milage. Anyone find one within 100 miles of 08311 that isnt moded too hell?
|
not that there is anything wrong with an auto, but they aren't half as much fun, and after driving it for a while, you are going to regret it... manual is way more enjoyable, and what i consider "much more of a true sports car" https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
|
i think im jus nervous bout it......so excited to get one!
|

I would hold the car as well if I knew I was going to get top dollar
for it, is he requiring a downpayment to hold the car? what if the loan falls thru? did you check on insurance yet? what are you going to drive when it snows? |

ANyways.. Rob makes good points.. Check the Insurance.. That for me is what makes it hard to get an FD.. Because of High premiums.. |
he lives in jersey for christs sake, the highest insurance premiums in
the country! |
driving this in the winter when its not snowing, otherwise i have a jeep
|
did you get insurance quotes yet? they also require you to have
a low deductable when there is a loan on the car |
you aint kidding on the insurance....full coverage, on an FD, for a 19yr old
|
no most of them in NJ have to be in-person-quotes
|
get a quote in person first, might answer your questions right
there. |
sounds good. i dont know where to begin with all this. What kind of loan, where to get it, what version of the car, etc etc. I'm so happy and so confused
|
I hate to break the news to you, but getting a loan for a older car
isnt such a easy task. If you have great credit and a can put down like half maybe, or if you have someone releated to you to co-sign the loan. You cant get a personal loan because you have nothing for them to take when you default on the loan. Personall loans are hard to get if you dont have a house, at least a personal loan that large. Other options are to find a place to give you a loan, a incredibly high interest rate is usually attatched to it, so that $13500 car will end up costing you $20,000. In other words you would need a "make it happen type of guy" |
Well my dad has flawless credit, and i have none, so hes going to cosign. Any suggestions on where to get the loan?
|
try his bank, remember used car loans carry higher interest rates
then new ones. But first check out the insurance I know someone local to me, but I dont think it will help you in jersey. He writes up commercial **** so basically he will write anything for the right interest rate. |
damn why didnt i post before, u guys are making me regret buying the car i just bought. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif
