I've been through the same thing. My first Sony laptop I sent in 7 times under waranty. The hard drive was replaced 3 times, the screen once, the keyboard once, the cd drive 6 times. Finally after bitching with them over the phone for over a month, and finally getting someone high enough up, to actually negotiate with me, they sent me a brand new computer the top model they had and all the bells and whistles. Haven't had a problem with it yet, and it's been two years.

what do you need such a fast computer for?
gaming?
yeah. gaming and recording.
i don't like to cut corners when building something that I will use daily.
i could def. go with less, but i would rather spend more now, than upgrade more in the future.
update: replaced vid card.. still getting an error on the mobo; cleared cmos (again), tried running on only the neccessities.. visited every abit forum i could find... after trying damn near every option, conclusion.. was shipped a dead mobo.. time to call newegg
