My sister has a dog that was previously abused and she's the perfect dog for my niece and nephews...my niece even named her Happy.

Kita isn't a full blooded Akita, we think and the vet thinks, he's mixed with German shepard or something similar. His temperment is very calm and loving around people he feels no threat from. But he is protective of us if someone comes around that he feels we are not comfortable with. He really is the absolute best dog I have ever known. The vet was suprised when they saw him, they said every other Akita that has come in there just sits by their owner and growls at anyone who tries to get near them. And they want to attack any other animal that's in there at the same time. I didn't think they were that mean.



Anyway, Kita is going to the vet now, so I'll be posting up a new blog today sometime.

yeah, akitas are very very protective and territorial. you have to be very careful with them, especially around other akitas.

Shane, you need to be careful how you mix ANY group of animals. I have Tibetan Spaniels and French Bulldogs that dont get along. On the other hand I go go over to the Kennel and have 6 Akitas together in the play yard. Please dont make generilized breed statements, they do more damage than good. Just look at Shepards, doobies and AM-Staffs to see how the general public jumps on bad news

dont tell that to the lady who i work with who had one for years that was fine with her other dogs. one day her friend brought another akita to her house and they got into a fight in the house which left blood everywhere. i was just saying to be careful which means always keeping the dog on a leash when theres a possibility of another dog being around until the dogs are aquainted and can be trusted.



not trying to worry anyone, just trying to make people aware. these dogs are very sweet dogs, but they will attack if they think its necessary. theyre so sweet that the japanese use them to babysit children.



the lady i work with also said they are very quick and can sneak up on you before you even know theyre around.

Yeah one of my cousins was attacked by a neighbors akita and he had some bad facial cuts, but I have been bit by irish setters, miniture collies, chiuahua, and mutts. So I am guessing we should watch out for them cause they are dangerous.



Just like rotties, I had a friend whose rotty weighed 155lbs and was a ***** he wouldn't hurt a fly. But since he was a rottweiler everyone was afraid of him.



Really it is the little fucker you have to watch out for they like to be nice then snap the **** out on you. All the big dogs let you know they are going to bite you.
