Hey, I found this 87 Base model Rx7 for $700. It's fenders are pretty much smashed and the front bumper is ****-eyed. Other than the body looking horribly wrong, the car runs like a new one. It's a 5 speed with 207,000 on the body, but only 56,000 on the engine. My question is, should I get it? It's a good running car but to make it look nice, that's going to take a lot of $$$. Maybe you all can help me out a little on deciding. I dont have any pics, so just imagine a red beat up rx7 that runs good. I really need your help on this. Thanks.

Might be a good candidate to swap up that there motor and drivetrain into a nice bodied car!

I'm to short on cash to do that right now. Maybe I could find some new fenders and a bumper. If I even get it. It is pretty screwed up.

The frame's fine, I had somebody check it out. The plastic is just bent out of shape on the bumper. I could put an FC2000 bumper on it and it would look just fine but then again Bumper=$650 Car=$700. It just dosent sound to logical.

i hate the comparison that your bumper costs almost as much as you paid for the car, if i paid 700 for an fd from some old lady whos husband bit it would i be dumb for putting on a couple of thousan worth of memiya body??? NO!!! thats retarded, think about this logically you paid total 1350 for a good running fc with a fc200 bumper... thats a good deal

or you could find a used stock bumper. as long as the frame is straight and it runs well (has good compression) it sounds like a good deal

youd still have to paint the fc2000 bumper unless you got the bumper used and already magically painted in your car's colour?

Nah, once it gets put back together, I'll probably primer it myself. Then send it up to Maaco. Yeah I know they suck at painting, but hey at least it's cheap.
