one time (and only time) when i was 16 a lady in front of me slammed on her brakes cause the person in front of her did too. Well I was driving a car that didnt have that good of brakes. I ended up tapping her ... we pull over and I get out and appologize first off. She smiles and says dont worry, then we look and there was like no damage to either car. There was actually a little scratch/dent from where it bumpped, but she said "oh it probably just knocked some dirt off!" ... then we both laughed and left. lol.. one of the oddest things.
maybe she didnt have insurance, or maybe she didnt want to bother with it...
point being, you should have told the english hoe that unless the damage exceeds a certain amount, the police are not to be called. Then you should have proceeded to kick her in the *******.
btw: i was cruising around in a new nissan titan tonight, and i must say, they are really nice trucks. One cool feature i have never seen in a car or truck was the fact that the seat would recline to a FULL horizontal position. That was rad...

You see, here it doesn't work like that. If the bitch slams her brakes on and you hit her, an accident Investigating unit will come out to investigate and if they find of no cause for her to put her brakes on, she's f**ked regardless of how much damage.

Here if you hit the back of someone, you're fucked and you pay for all the cars ahead of you. I'm just pissed, don't need my insurance going up because of some greedy bitch that doesn't have the decency to at least let me pay out of pocket.
