We started at 7:00am working, yet again on this hooptie, this time it's getting a cut, polish and wax in prep for the ghost flame pinstripe job, a remote oil filter (which doubles as an oil cooler of sorts), and stainless steel brake lines.

As nothing in the way of performance/aftermarket parts are made for the SSR, we had to fab everything. I'm still wondering why the new Vette engines they put in these don't come with an oil cooler.

After two cases of soft drinks, three bbq-ed meals, and two cases of brew (so far) we are still at it, i think the older guys are running out of gas though. lol

PICS!

The garage is no longer clean...

Omar doing his thing on his half of the body work...

The OLD GUYS having a meeting of the minds about braided stainless...

Nostalgic style retro hot rod. The performance mods for the engine will come once it is broke in more.

The obligatory GM orange peel is a little more than I can handle, instead of blocking the rig down with 2000 grit, we deceided to give it a heavy cut to knock it down some, it will be a daily driven rig.

Every time I turn around it's seems to need something else, there is about 200 pounds of unnecessary steel under this thing which needs to be cut off, primed and finished, the undercarriage needs a full cleaning and sealing from road debris, the running boards need to be lowered some, the suspension needs lowered as well. I'm not sure how long this project will take and what the ultimate goal is, i'll just keep picking away at it until i'm satisfied.

Yeah, the striper will just have to strip the wax in prep for his work, then it will come back and we will hand polish and wax after the stripe job.

Edit: more pics to come, and hairy or non-hairy flamers are not allowed in the shop!
