why do things need to be photoshopped to be a good background???

this is my background at the moment (ofcourse, in a higher res and a bit brighter)









With my backgrounds i prefer focus with darker colours towards the bottom and to the right with a lighter coloured top for icon's and the such....

 

i need to clean my desktop up a little bit...
