I confess I used to work in an ACVW shop.

Discuss.

Ok, I wanna know then what size engine should I do in my buggy? I am guess ing I will want something like 1776 cc? I am not loooing for 12second passes but i want to have some Zoom.

Also am I better off buying a turn key or could i buy the block and build it from parts?

Be sure to 8-dowel the crank and bolt on some big jugs!

They're pretty easy to build, but I suspect you can get some good deals on some nicely put together engines too. Depends on how much you want to spend and how much time you have to do the work.

How about something like this. I forget what size engine it is but a 1776 sounds about right. I will ask him if I talk to him tonight. Oh and this thing is pretty quick. Smoked my turbo 2 last year at the drag strip.

All you need is one item in your toolbox - duct tape.

They're fun, relatively cheap and easy to build, but inherently weak. Water cooling works so much better.

I built quite the hotrod engine for our buggy back in high school. It wasn't hugely oversized, but with the right cam they can be quite the little screamer. Extra dowels are a very good idea.

Notchback? Good luck bud. They are a rare bird. I saw one in very nice shape come up for sale around here a couple of years ago and the dude wanted over 7k for it.

Good luck on finding a notch, I had my sights on one but someone bought it out from under me.

Almost picked up a Type III Ghia as well.
