I'm sure your Dad is a highly ethical man and has done well by his clients. I'm also sure that he has done very well for himself, not that there's anything wrong with that. And I wonder if the rate of return for these clients is higher than the S&P 500 once you net out his fees.
IMHO, a majority of people with money to invest would be far better off to do a little research and make investment decisions themselves, rather than pay someone else to do it. Most advisors put their interests and those of the company they work for ahead of their clients.

he is, and he does
a lot of his newer clients come from big investment firms (my dad's buisness is just him), and they have all kinds of scheme's that dont serve the customer.

Yes this would bring about many questions.
Seeing as I am almost 30 and not really settled into a career I would lean more towards the starting of a profitable business. Both ensuring a bright future and occupying my current days. My retirement will cost little as I have it planned, but of course more is better. Ideally said business would be marketable in the later years of my life.
There are risks in every venture and certainly I would want to minimalize those, but it would leave me at an interesting crossroads. I would pay off my bills and attempt to put a portion of the money into something with both long and short term profitability... what I don't know. LOL
