Anyways this kid with a 240, thinks he can get all this stuff for so cheap and modding cars is easy and cheap yadda yadda. He quotes me internet **** all the time and when he bought his car the dealer wanted 5k i told him he wouldnt get it for under 4k. He ended up getting it for 3500 and has been shoving it down my throat because he was right i was wrong and i always tell him he was wrong even though he told me the car was in mint condition when in reality it had dings and **** and he went back saying "it was mint compared to my friend's wrecked 240."

Anyways he's saying he can do a full SR20 swap for under 2k.

AzNcHiCk92 (9:47:35 PM): you can get them off ebay for 1499 plus 350 shipping

AzNcHiCk92 (9:47:54 PM): this is paxton now

that's what his gf said.

Anyways she linked me to these

I doubt getting a working SR20 is that cheap. And i'm still leary of buying engines off the internet like that but anyways, give me some arguements guys.

Getting the engine is the easy part, the conversion is way more than that, all the piping, and wiring will not figure into that price.

i have more than a few friends doing or have completed the sr20 swap, none have gotten in under 4k total. your friend really thinks he can just buy the motor and thats it? only one of my friends has done the wiring harness on his own and it took him and his dad a full month to get everything exactly right. if he doesn't do the wiring harness himself it's about $220 or so to have that done, and the cheap engine for sale had a cut wiring harness. good luck with that one...

the cheap engine doesn't even have the ignitor chip!!! good luck finding someone that'll seperate that from a complete setup...

ok, they can buy a motor off ebay...most of those guys rip you off, that kid still has to...

make piping

wire everything

install the motor

make it run

cut stuff for the SMIC OR

buy a FMIC and cut stuff for the FMIC

die

aids

its a dierct swap...meaning itll drop right into the KA's motor mounts but they'res some stuffthat you have to do to make it work. he's not gonna be able to do the swap for anything under 4grand

it depends which sr20 you get, they have different hp numbers and also some motors don't come with everything....i've seen them as low as 1,000, but it all depends i guess
