How Many Of You Guys Actually Believe

I find them to be soo bullshit its unreal. My friend had a Jaq X type auto with 14k on the clock and car and driver said it does 0-60 in 6.4. Not only did it take way longer than that when i was with him several times, but my mom's 4 banger auto camary didn't lose by much to it. And added to that my old n/a rx7 beat more than a handful of auto **13sec** cars more than enought times to make me satisfied that they post bullshit. And no its not just driver skill cuz I have raced more than I can count on my hands with the same driver/person/condition auto car.. So i **had** the only 12 sec bolt on n/a rx-7 cool....

is the tested Jag also an automatic? I know automatic can greatly effect that stats of a car, hell look at the RX8 in manual form the redline is 9k, in auto form the redline is 7.5k, and the auto has like 40 less hp.
most of the time the magazines are relatively close, the best way to estimate the speed would be to gather a couple f stats from different places and average them, although most ricers out there search for the best time ever and say that is the average time all the cars run.
kevin.

I have yet to see a S2000 at the 1/4 mile strip break into the 13's a majority of them are in the 15's. Far cry from the magazine results.
I usually add about 0.5 to 1 second to the 1/4 mile times fro cars for real world driving.
I watched a modded C-5 run a 13.4 this past weekend. I thought they were high 12 second cars?
Magazine takes the car gets a pro. Uses an optimum track and tries and tries until they get the desired results. Imagine how good you could get your launch if you practiced it a couple of dozen times in a row without waiting 2 hours between runs.
Magazine #'s are not real.
