Ok, now some of you more computer-savvy users may have already discovered this yourself, but if not..I'm gonna help ya out. It's my good dead of the year, lol.

I hate those ******* "MESSENGER SERVICE" gray popups that come up when your on the net and using WindowsXP or 2000....

..and this is how you get rid of them...

Click Start

Scroll to programs..click programs...

Scroll to accessories..click accessories..

Scroll til you see "command prompt" ...click that...

this will then open your command prompt(DOS lookalike)

now type NET STOP MESSENGER and hit return(enter)

what you typed should have looked like this:

C:\NET STOP MESSENGER

Once the command has executed you should see this:

C:\NET STOP MESSENGER

The messenger sevice is stopping.

The messenger service was stopped successfully.

Now you can close you command prompt window and live happy ever after w/out GAY *** ******* GRAY MESSENGER SERVICE POPUPS! GOD I HATE THEM.

There..sorry, easy enough huh?

BTW, anybody know of Web Developer/Web Master/Cold fusion developer or anything in between position available on the east coast, LET ME KNOW..I'm in need of a new job

If your access is denied, its more then likely because you don't have administrative liberties. If your at work, can't help ya..but if your at home, make sure your logged into windows as the administrator, or the main user(admin,lol)...other then that, can't help ya..

I did this last year, but our system admin reloaded Windows and I'd forgotten how to do it!

There's another way to do it, which I did, but your way is easier, so you win!
