Pay your bills on time.

Go to your bank, get a preauthorized Visa.

(Like put $500 on the visa in credit and use it)

Build credit, without being in debt.

Use your credit card to buy stuff, even if you have the money. Then pay in full when the bill comes in. If you have a loan, get ahead on your payments. Pay more than the payment is. Paying a loan off ahead of schedule is a good way to help credit.

but then again paying a loan off to quick doesn't help you at all.

If you have no credit, and want to build some, get a gas card. There is less risk involved. Plus you always need gas, right? Might as well use a card, and get credit. If you miss a payment, it's not like they can take your gas.

This was suggested to me by a finance person at a dealership.

if u have bad creedit already, u can write the 3 major credit companys letters and dispute the negatives on your credit. they have 30 days to respond. if they dont respond with in 30 days its off your credit. they usually respond, thats y you just keep at it. a wise man told me about this one and also the finance manager at VW.

Any regular payments on anything will do it. Get a 0% APR card and when they start adding intrest, stop using it. Switch to another card. Paying off a car loan in a few payments won't help. You need regular payments double of what you need to pay at the most.
