Yeah, I saw it once.

A '98 Talon Turbo, the flywheel cut right through the hood.

Guy was lucky that's all he lost!

 

Damn, funny how you get a subject going and you think it doesn't happen often. Then all these people say they saw it too, LOL, well I'd like to be included.



A year before I came to the states I visited a BMW Dealership for a school project we had to do. I went by the mechanic stalls in their service area and heard a HUGE BOOM. I went over to it (scared as hell) and saw two guys looking all fucked up at a boulging hood of a 318i. Turns out they revved it to hell and the flywheel poped off, bounced of the side of the firewall and came to a stop on top of the engine after it hit the hood.
