Here's a question to all

How old were you when you started to know about rotor's and who changed you and how or what car did they have.

Come on tell us your story.

A friend of mine had a Rx3 sedan, popular car in Australia and we went for a drive after he bought it

It was a 10A Motor and it looked funny for the first time, but after the drive in it, I was hooked on them.

Now I love them and doing burn-out with them

I bought my RX-7 based on power, handling and price...I didn't care what was under the hood.

When it just came out in Europe, it's a long story.

Short Version: Saw FD kill MK3 Supra. Saved 95% of all allowances and any other money I earned so I could get one.

The time is here, I have the money, but still looking for the right car. HAHA

I saw Vin Diesal driving one and I knew right then and their I had to have one. I'm getting the triple-X tatoo next month

Seriously....I took a dive in the deep end. I have only worked on toyotas and a mustang. I learn as I go. Still learning but its alot of fun.

Back when I was about 10 or 11 my older brother used to have a friend who used to steal RX7s alot and we eventually had an abundance of parts lying around.. Then my older brother got a 13B that was meant to go in his lowrider.. But never found its way in.. About that same time My dad bought the Repu I have today.. and a few years later since it was gonna be my truck I found out that it was supposed to have a rotary engine in there.. Since someone had swapped in a 4 banger.. I lost interest in the truck though.. not knowing how rare they are..

Forward a few years to the time when street racing imports began blowing up in in southern california.. Racing in places like long beach and the valley, about 6 or 7 years ago.. A friend of ours got a series 5 RX7.. My brother never wanted to take me with them, but his buddy in the S5 would.. I remember going over 120 in that ****, and doing donuts like crazy.. Me being the passenger of course.. Ever since then I new those cars were frikin fast..

Last year about February, I had to move out of the house we had been renting.. I had nowhere to keep the Repu so I was gonna give it away, but my buddies said why don't I keep it and fix it up.. Then I found Mazdarepu.com and read about how rare they really are.. So I kept it and got a T2 engine and rebuilt it my self.. During the process of getting all the rebuild stuff ready, my thirst for ratary knowledge brought me here.. to Nopistons.com.. I have stayed ever since and Now own 2 not so common Rotaries, My T2 75 Repu, and My 90 Vert..

I never even knew rx-7s contained rotary engines for a while. I had found pics of em over the net and somehow managed to wander into this fine forum and began learning.

I traded my 86 beat to **** (bent frame from being rolled and landing on the wheels without touching the roof, no suspension because I jumped it all the time) Ford Ranger pickup to my best friend's older brother even up for my 84 GSL-SE. He had just bought a dirtbike and wanted a cheap truck. I was 17 and had no idea what the rx7 was and what it had under the hood...my friends brother took me down the road and did a 180 at about 45mph and then did some doughnuts and let me drive me back. I was sold considering there was also a sweet little stock Clarion system and awesome leather interior. I figured it'd go a whole lot farther towards gettin me laid than the Ranger and was a blast to drive. I was hard on her for the rest of high school...went through a set of rears, a motor, a clutch, and a transmission so my lessons were expensive, but I've calmed down and learned to take care of her and I absolutely love that car. She sat in my dad's barn for 6 years while I was in Gemany and every car I owned over there just wasn't as fun. Now that I'm back she's my daily driver again...no complaints, no problems, and will stomp most of the rice we run acrost. The love affair has matured, but also gotten stronger. Looking back on it it's crazy that I just lucked into getting an SE.... Guarantee that Ranger is in a junkyard by now....or someone is drinkin Pepsi out of it...

looks are what first attracted me to 1st gen rx7s, and it was in the price range i could afford. Upon learning about the rotary engine and researching before buying, I liked them even more. I bought a gold '81 GSL in '94 and have been hooked on rotaries even since.

I saw the thing (rotary) when I was 6yrs old. Seemed weird compared to otto-cycle so I became interested. I didn't even know what car it was mounted in!
