so much negativity

Hot Rod magazine has been around alot longer then any of us, I

doubt they will make themselves look bad with biased challenges

If any of you were to actually read Hot Rod you would see they

touch on the subject of high tech imports as well as domestics,

but the truth is that its Hot Rod, not Turbo, not SCC.

People dont pick up Turbo or SCC to read about a big block

camaro. By the way, Turbo used to be FULL of domestics

when it first came out all Buicks and Mustangs, yes, you heard right MUSTANGS.

why cant you guys respect the work that goes into someone's car

and be a fan of anything with performance and speed, free your minds
i'd have 2 agree with u man...i love tha way a ported 13b or 12a sounds but i also love tha way a brand new set of flowmasters sound on a nicely tuned 350 or 454 bigblock

I can respect what you have typed here but I am a realist. Our "Import" cars were not built with 1/4 mile in mind they were built to be sports cars. Some have had deep enough wallets to turn theirs into 1/4 mile cars but quite honestly American cars are all about red light racing and 1/4 mile. Thats what they were built for.

This is what your average LS1 powered car can do when a guy drops as much money into his car as I have.

It will be a bloodbath. Imports will never be as fast as domestics in a straight line. Throw in a few turns and it all changes.

I agree with jim. the should make it several events. each being a % of the contest. I know that some 10 sec. domestic wont be able to keep up with a 12 sec import in a road course. The should also be registered, insured, STREET CARS. not some trailor queen.

That link is just a picture of a WMP screen.

I think it would be a fun event. So long as the cars are fairly comparable I could care less who wins.

A nice car is a nice car.

Of course the imports would win. Even against domestics. have you ever seen the movie 2fast 2furious?

What if i showed up with a 74 Ford Capri, imported from Britian. That'll have a Cosworth GAA V6 with 500hp.

that will confuse then when i sign up on the "import" sheet

you dont think american cars can be made to handle and brake?

put money into the suspension and the braking and they get

the whoa as well as the go.

americans have been racing on tracks that have turns as well

as 1/4 mile.

most domestics owners are always pushing the handling aspect

of thier car because thats what they have built the car for.

Some go all out, handling and speed. The same holds true for domestics

except usually its speed first them handling.
